Sick Days

Most workers in the UK go to the office when they are unwell rather than take a sick day, new research suggests. Seven out of 10 employees in private firms have turned up in the office while feeling poorly when they should have taken the day off, according to the Working Lives report commissioned by insurance firm Aviva. In contrast, less than a quarter of those surveyed said they had taken a sick day when they were not actually unwell. More than two in five of the 2,000 employees questioned said their employer put the results of the company ahead of their health and wellbeing.
